After School Study Period
After School Study Period

A voluntary supervised study period is scheduled every Monday through Thursday from 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The purpose of the study period is to provide a quiet environment for students to complete their homework assignments.  Teachers are available during the study period to answer questions, clarify expectations or provide additional instructional assistance.

Jazz Band

​

Jazz Band meets weekly for the first and second trimester.  All students are welcome.  We are open to all instrumentalists, including string players.  Students in jazz band play jazz, popular, and rock styles of music and will usually perform at the November and February concerts.  Jazz Band has also performed locally in the community. 

 

Owl Chorale

​

The Owl Chorale is a treble voice vocal ensemble that meets weekly throughout the year.  They sing a wide variety of music both accompanied and a cappella.  The group performs at school concerts as well as in the community.

Boys Ensemble

​

The Boys Ensemble is a vocal group comprised of changed, changing and unchanged male voices.  They sing a variety a cappella and accompanied selections.  The group rehearses weekly and performs at school concerts as well as in the community.  

 

Ice Skating

​

During the winter months, the ASMS Ice Skating Club meets weekly for 4-5 weeks, weather permitting.  Students walk with chaperones to the Corning Civic Center Skating Rink after school.

Clubs

 

Throughout the academic year, a variety of clubs are offered and meet for approximately 3-4 weeks.  Book, Gaming, Chess, and Coding are a sampling of past clubs that have met.
