When should I start the application process for my child?

The admission cycle begins in September of the school year prior to year of enrollment. If your child is applying for sixth grade, you can start the application process in September of your child's fifth grade year.

 

When is the admission application deadline?

The deadline for admission is January 1. The admissions committee will review all completed applications received by this date. If spaces are available after this point, completed applications arriving after the January 1 deadline will be reviewed in the order in which they are received.

 

Does my child have to be an honor student to be accepted at ASMS?

No. We recognize that all middle school students have both developed and emerging skills and talents. The most successful ASMS students are those who are excited about engaging in the learning process.

 

Do you offer financial aid?

Yes. Applications for need-based financial aid should be submitted before February 28.

 

Where do ASMS students come from?

Our students come from all over the Southern Tier of New York and from Pennsylvania.

 

Is there bus transportation to ASMS?

Yes. School bus transportation is available for students in the greater Corning area, Elmira, and Horseheads.

 

Are school lunches available on site?

No. Students bring their own lunches. Friday is pizza day, and students can choose to order pizza instead of bringing lunch. All lunches are eaten in our spacious lunch room.

 

Does my child have to wear a uniform?

Yes. ASMS logo polo shirts, khakis and sweatshirts can be ordered through Lands' End.
