Our challenging standards-based curriculum emphasizes the development of essential skills, the understanding of important concepts, and the ability to apply learning to real-world problems.
Our curriculum includes courses of study for all students in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, world languages, music, visual arts, physical education, and health. In addition, students take grade-specific trimester courses in technology, research, and study skills which are designed to support their integrated learning experience.
Grade 7
Learning Resources
ASMS offers trimester-long courses in study skills (MS101) and technology which are designed to support student learning in the classroom. Course content is determined by specific needs expressed at each grade level, and skills learned are expected to be applied by students as they develop into self-aware learners in a technological age.

Technology 7
In seventh grade, students participate in a trimester-long course which introduces them basic programming concepts and allows them to experiment writing code. Students are allowed to work at a level that is comfortable to them and are able to use a variety of software and tools including Khan Academy, Scratch and Python.
